Two of the people we support at Homersham recently went to watch the Queen’s baton as it came through Canterbury. It was a brilliant experience.
The baton has journeyed through the 72 nations and territories of the Commonwealth, having been launched from Buckingham Palace by The Queen herself back in October. Its aim is to embrace culture; ignite hope, solidarity and collaboration; and share stories that inspire others to take on challenges.
As the baton now travels around the country, it will pass through a total of 189 English cities, towns and villages over 29 days before arriving at the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
